Description
"Momiji," translating to "maple" was painted with watercolor, and represents the month of October. It incorporates Japanese maple trees, a ribbon (in form of a sheer scarf), and a fawn.
Hanafuda are playing cards of Japanese origin. The name "hanafuda" literally translates to flower cards. Each suit is painted as a whole and then divided into four individual cards, creating the 48 card deck. The best part? The Hanafuda deck can be used to play a myriad of card games!
I started illustrating my own Hanafuda deck "Interlude" back in February 2017 with the help of my patrons on Patreon. On October 10th, 2017 I launched my very first Kickstarter campaign to bring the deck to life! Only a few more days left of the campaign!
